International Students

Bolles is a diverse community comprising students from all over the world. The boarding program is a key component to providing both day and resident students an opportunity to experience new cultures and broaden their view of the world around them.

The Language Transition
International students who attend Bolles are expected to have a working knowledge of English. For those students who are not fluent, the School offers an English Language Learner Orientation program instead of or in addition to standard English courses. Fluency will come as a result of immersion into this culture. To encourage language acquisition, international students are placed, whenever possible, with English-speaking roommates.

ELLO Summer Program
The goal of this three-week summer orientation is to provide a fun and informative start to the student experience on the San Jose Campus. An intensive look at academic English guides students as they engage in activities that will help them be ready for success in the classroom, not just language-wise, but socially as well. In addition to the language classes, there are also units on the concept of academic integrity in the US, American history, culture and traditions — and more!

In other words — students get insight into how to get the most out of their time at Bolles.
