Boys and girls from the Bolles Residential Life program routinely enjoy weekend outings to various spots around Northeast Florida as a means of better connecting to their home away from home. While visits to local restaurants, stores, movies and indoor hot spots have been on the agenda in more normal school years, the pandemic has challenged organizers to plan more outdoor activities with a focus on physical distancing this year. And fortunately, Jacksonville is long on beautiful, fun places to explore the outdoors.
Just last weekend, students enjoyed a trip to Diamond D Ranch on Jacksonville’s far Westside. Students saddled up and rode horses on a trail through the area’s old Florida scenery. Held on a beautiful sunny morning, the ride was a nice change of pace from school and boarding life on the St. Johns River.
