Mike Mulvey
Head Coach
Email

Mike Mulvey, an Upper School English teacher at Bolles, returned to the sidelines in 2017. Mulvey previously served as head coach from 2008-2012.

Mulvey joined the Bolles' faculty in 2004, serving as an assistant lacrosse coach before taking the helm in 2008. He is the most successful coach in Bolles lacrosse history, leading the Bulldogs to the state semifinals for the first time in 2010, coaching the first Division 1 college signee in 2008 and coaching the first All-American in 2009. During Mulvey's initial stint as head coach, the program produced four All-American honors, three district titles, two region titles and three double-digit win seasons. He was named North Florida Lacrosse Coach of the Year in 2011 and Central Florida Assistant Coach of the Year in 2005. He led the Bulldogs to another district title in 2017 and to the third round of the state playoffs.

Mulvey stepped down as Bolles head coach in 2012, shifting his efforts to youth lacrosse in which his sons participated. He was instrumental in developing youth lacrosse in St. Johns County and continued to coach and grow the game at the youth level over the last several years.

Prior to Bolles, Mulvey spent three years as the varsity head coach of the Fairfield High School boys' lacrosse team in Fairfield, Connecticut. In 2002, he was named Connecticut Post Coach of the Year for his efforts in guiding the team to its most successful season in school history with a sixth place state ranking. Before becoming head coach, Mulvey was an assistant coach with the program for three years.

Before joining the Fairfield High School staff, Mulvey served as the junior varsity coach at his alma mater—Fairfield College Preparatory School, where as a student he was a captain of the lacrosse team.

Mulvey played one year of Division I lacrosse at Fairfield University where he went on to earn a bachelor's degree. He and his wife, Theresa, have four children, all at Bolles: sons Connor '19, Jack '21 and Patrick '23 and daughter Molly '27.

Assistant Coaches: Brad Sterling, Matt Breuer, Jacob Stenson '10, Chris Gebauer, Pat Orman
