The Emmy Award-winning sports documentary series “Religion of Sports” will air a feature on Bolles alumnus Hayden Hurst ’12 November 8 on NBC. A film crew visited the San Jose Campus in early August to capture interviews and footage of Hurst and other members of the Bolles football family including former Football Head Coach Corky Rogers, football alumni Riley Skinner ’05, former coach and faculty member Ted Lyon and current assistant coach Mike Barrett. Hurst works with Barrett on strength and conditioning in the offseason and he goes to lunch with Rogers and other coaches when in town to talk football.
Hurst is a second-year tight end with the Baltimore Ravens and starred at the University of South Carolina following two years of professional baseball in the Pittsburgh Pirate’s minor league system. “Religion of Sports” was created by executive producers Tom Brady, Michael Strahan, and Gotham Chopra. The docuseries travels the world to answer the question: why do sports matter?
