Whitehurst Grade 5 Market Raises Funds for Dreams Come True

Bolles Lower School Whitehurst Campus fifth graders staged their annual Entrepreneur Market on Bouziane Field May 8, raising thousands of dollars for Dreams Come True.

In tandem with a dress-down day fundraiser and a Grade 3 lemonade stand held earlier this year, the Bulldogs have now raised more than $4,000 for their Kids Helping Kids Dreams Come True initiative. The fifth graders will use the money raised to support a special Disney trip for a “dreamer” and their family.

The market is always an imaginative showcase of distinctive business, marketing and product development ideas. Students team in small groups to develop $1-3 products or services to market at the bazaar, including treats, games, 3D-printed gadgets, jewelry and other creative offerings. A constant stream of schoolmates—and special guest “dreamer” Tyren—rotated through the tables throughout the morning, helping the fifth graders raise important funds for the sponsorship of their dreamer.
