Wellington Named Upper School Dean

Mannie Wellington has been hired as Bolles Upper School Dean. Wellington will assume the position left by John Newman, who is taking on a new role as Stewardship and Alumni Officer in the Bolles Office of Advancement after 21 years serving as the Upper School Dean.

Wellington comes to Bolles with more than 12 years of leadership experience at the middle and upper school level. For the past four years, he has served as the Fruit Cove Middle School Dean of Students and Athletic Director. There, he was a mentor and academic advisor, activities coordinator and developed school discipline procedures and positive relationships with the community. He also served as the Athletic Director for the Fruit Cove Middle and St. Johns Middle School Athletic Association. In addition to these many duties, Wellington has been on the Bolles Varsity Football Coaching staff for the past two years.

He also has worked as teacher of physical education and was a Teacher of the Year recipient. Wellington is experienced working with students with Autism, speech impairment and behavioral disturbance. He has a degree in sports management and a minor in business administration from Florida International University.
