Upper School Students Named to Second Quarter President’s List
Seven upper school students were named to The President’s List for the second quarter of the 2024-25 school year at two honors convocations held in McGehee Auditorium January 10 and January 14.
Each quarter during the academic year, upper school faculty and staff nominate students for the award. A faculty committee receives the submissions and identifies stand-out student candidates who best exemplify The Bolles Way by pursuing excellence through courage, integrity and compassion.
This year’s second quarter recipients are:
- Nora Bouziane ’25: Bouziane has consistently gone above and beyond over the last four years as a volunteer for the annual Whitehurst Campus Fall Festival – and every year, she is one of the last people to leave campus, helping with cleanup and taking down all the booths. Not only did she coordinate the volunteer sign-up this year, but she went the extra mile to manage all the volunteers during the event.
- Esha Kasavaraju ’26 and Sree Alam ’28: The pair teamed up to write every single ninth grader a personalized note of encouragement ahead of the students’ first upper school exams. It’s noteworthy to mention the pair didn’t complete this act of kindness with a club or program. They took it upon themselves to get a list of all Grade 9 students from Schoology, write the messages, sort them by advisor and deliver them. They also wrote notes of appreciation for every faculty member, spreading positivity across the entire campus.
- Chi Vo ’27, Emerson Slaughter ’27 and Ava Ludwig ’27: These sophomores organized a heartfelt “Donuts for Donations” sale to support those affected by Hurricane Milton. Their initiative, combined with online donations, raised an impressive $1,027 for the American Red Cross Foundation. The compassionate students acted independently, without the backing of any club or program.
- Sebastian Toscano ’27: Toscano dedicated over 100 hours to hand-tying and donating more than 500 paracord lanyards to Operation Gratitude. These lanyards will be included in care packages sent to deployed service members around the world. This cause holds special significance for Toscano, given his time living overseas and his personal experience receiving support from organizations like the USO.
