Students Use Advanced Manufacturing to Build Furniture

Bolles upper school students taking Principles of Engineering with science teacher Kevin Curran recently completed their third-quarter project, which focused on designing and building a piece of furniture.

Over several weeks, students researched, designed, modeled and built their projects using at least two manufacturing methods introduced in class, including 3D printing, laser cutting, epoxy pouring and woodworking.

The students utilized the Kappaz Fabrication Lab in the Frank R. Sanchez & Hope and Dana E. Fender Center for Innovation as they moved from design and modeling to fabrication. View more pictures in our online photo gallery. #BollesInnovates
