Seventh Graders Navigate Pipeline Challenge

Bolles English teacher Gabi Fudge arranged a hands-on challenge for her Advisory students during an Open Advisory day on September 11: the Ball Run, also known as the Pipeline Game.

With no assignments or tasks scheduled, the focus was on connection, communication and collaboration. Students split into two equal teams and were given a simple but strategic mission—transport a golf ball from Point A to Point B using only short pieces of tubing, without letting it drop!

Each team member held a piece of the pipeline, working together to guide the ball toward a designated cup. If the ball fell, the team had to start over, reinforcing the importance of patience, coordination and teamwork.

“It was a fantastic way to build communication and a little friendly competition,” Fudge said. “Great job to everyone who participated—they rolled with it like pros!”
