Second Graders Enjoy Luminescent Lessons

Second graders on the Bolles Lower School Whitehurst Campus were in for a glow-rious surprise on February 6, when lower school teachers Teresa Hudson and Jaime Plauche transformed their classrooms into luminescent learning centers!

The pair meticulously decorated their rooms and incorporated black-light-illuminated lessons—including word sounds, phonics and math activities—throughout the day to celebrate the 100th day of school. The second graders enjoyed glow-in-the-dark fun, from playing tic-tac-toe and arranging magna-tiles to building a fort and a pyramid of 100 cups. The teachers also read the book “GLOW,” written by Kayla Diamond and illustrated by Rachel Batislaong, about a broken glow stick struggling to find his glow.
