Second Graders ‘Camp Out’ in Classroom
classroom

As a reward for earning 10 class compliments for good behavior, first graders in Dr. Jaime Swartz’s classroom enjoyed their first “transformation” day of the school year. Their classroom became a campsite for the day and students were invited to warm themselves by the “campfire” and bring flashlights, sleeping bags and blankets. Students enjoyed double-digit math with renaming in their sleeping bags and with flashlights. Later in the day, they made S’mores and wrote a procedural writing piece about it by the light of the campfire. Swartz also shared a campfire story and everyone enjoyed building forts in which they could read independently. Learning is fun at Bolles! For more photos, visit our online gallery.
