The Bolles Upper School Student Diversity Committee is hosting the 2022 Culture Fair April 19-22. The week includes a broad array of activities, performances and opportunities to get familiar with the many cultures, countries and backgrounds the Bolles community represents.
The Culture Fair begins Tuesday with a “Cultural Canvases” event at the benches during Activities period. Students will be painting canvases showcasing what culture and diversity means to them. A “Poster and Instagram Find” activity will be ongoing through the day April 20. SDC members will put up posters about cultural fashion around campus so peers can learn something new. The committee also is hosting games and fun facts on its Instagram account at @bollesssdc.
On Thursday, April 21, booths and performances are planned in front of Bent Student Center during Activities period. Students representing many cultures will stage dance performances and host booths where peers can learn about their cultures, play games, try new foods and participate in activities. April 22 is the final day of the fair, but arguably one of the most anticipated! During F periods in Davis Gym, students may participate in traditional Irish dancing with longtime history teacher Cormac O’Riordan. Organizers also plan to have the Boba Girl food truck on campus.
