Jacksonville’s film community is celebrating a milestone as industry leader Todd Roobin ’80 marks 40 years with the City of Jacksonville Film and Television Office.

In April, Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan recognized Roobin’s service, leadership and long-standing dedication that has shaped the city’s growing film industry. Known for his behind-the-scenes impact since 1986, Roobin has played a key role in bringing major productions and creative opportunities to Northeast Florida.

During his tenure, he has helped attract a wide range of film and television projects to Jacksonville, including “Basic,” “G.I. Jane,” “Recount” and “Cobra Kai.” His efforts have also supported numerous independent films, television productions and commercial projects.

Beyond recruiting high-profile productions, Roobin has remained committed to elevating local storytellers. He continues to champion Jacksonville-based filmmakers while showcasing the area’s diverse landscapes and production resources.
