River Reynolds ’19 won first place in the recent Rotary Club of South Jacksonville Oratory Competition.

She spoke on the following topic: “What are the developing cultural trends that will change our community at home and worldwide over the next twenty years regarding social service to humanity?”

As part of her first place win, Reynolds received a $100 participation voucher and $500 in scholarship funds. She also moves on to the next round of the oratory competition, which will be televised from the WJCT studios on February 21. Prizes for the next round are $5,000 for first place, $2,500 for second place and $1,500 for third place.
