Records Galore as Swimming & Diving Win Region Titles

The Bolles boys’ and girls’ swimming and diving teams swept the team titles at the Region 1-1A Championships, held November 5 at Bolles. The teams combined to win 19 events and posted several team and pool records in the process.

Individual event winners for the Bolles girls were Ella Chan ’25 in the 100 fly, Neala Klein ’25 in the 500 free, Lila Higgo ’25 in the 100 back, Victoria Edgar ’26 in the 100 breast and Gianna Vasto ’28 in diving. The Bulldogs also won the 200 medley relay (Lucero Mejia Arce ’26, Edgar, Chan, Higgo), 200 free relay (Higgo, Riley Miller ’26, Leah Chin ’27, Ellie Stewart) and 400 free relay (Higgo, Allison Kelly ’28, Ainsley Stephan ’26, Mejia Arce). Chan, Higgo, Edgar and all three relays set new Tarver Pool records, with Higgo also setting a new school record.

Individual event winners for the boys were Xavier Sohovich ’25 in the 200 free and 500 free, Liam Carrington ’26 in the 200 IM and 100 back, Andy Kravchenko ’25 in the 50 free and 100 free, Antoine Destang ’25 in the 100 fly and Cohen Chiam ’25 in the 100 breast. The boys also won the 200 medley relay (Lucas Young ’26, Eldad Zamir ’25, Destang, Tristan Dorville ’25), 200 free relay (Destang, Kravchenko, Dorville, Charlie Zuhoski ’26) and 400 free relay (Destang, Kravchenko, Carrington, Sohovich). New Tarver Pool records were set by Carrington in the 200 IM, Kravchenko in the 50 free, Sohovich in the 500 free and by the 200 free and 400 free relay teams.

Bolles next competes at the Class 1A State Championship at Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training in Ocala on Friday, November 15. A live broadcast will be available on the NFHS Network (subscription required).
