PVB Fourth Graders Dubbed Knights, Ladies of the Reading Table
fourth graders dressed in medieval costumes

It was an honorable and celebratory ceremony this week in Marjorie Pardue’s fourth grade classroom on the Bolles Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus. Dressed in her royal fineries, Queen Pardue presided over the “Knights and Ladies of the Reading Table” ceremony alongside Queen Campus Head Stacey Hendershot.

The annual gathering is a celebration of all the book-reading students accomplish during the school year. Festooned in their medieval best, fourth graders sat expectantly in a darkened, candlelit room and were called up one by one to receive a gift and “knighting” to celebrate a lifelong love of reading. After the secret ceremony, the students enjoyed a Medieval feast, which took place at the picnic tables outside their classroom.

Congratulations to our fourth-grade readers! For more photos from the ceremony, visit our online gallery.
