Pumpkin Drop A Splat in Fundraising Bucket for Dreams Come True

On November 4, the Bolles Upper School Dreams Come True Club staged its annual Pumpkin Drop fundraiser, which culminated in the launch of a 69.4-pound pumpkin from the top of the south tower of Bolles Hall. Thursday’s pumpkin drop is a much anticipated event that was postponed this year due to bad weather. During Homecoming Week, upper school students are challenged to guess the weight of a large pumpkin on display at the Benches in front of Bolles Hall. The Bulldog who most closely guesses the weight is afforded the pleasure and honor of pushing the pumpkin off the south tower ledge. This year Joey Morris '22 and Garrett Watterson '24 guessed the pumpkin’s weight correctly. Following a brief welcome and overview from club president Leah Zimmerman '22 on November 4, the pumpkin made its way over the tower ledge. The pumpkin landed and exploded with an impressive thud, much to the applause of students who had congregated outside. Great pumpkin, Bulldogs!
