Bolles senior Madelyn Popp has been selected to be a member of the 2021-22 FHSAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Popp will be one of four students representing Section One and 16 overall members. The FHSAA Student-Athlete Advisory serves as a crucial link in identifying topics, issues and concerns that face the student-athletes of Florida.
This year, the FHSAA received over forty-five applications from students across Florida. These members were chosen based on their sports participation, extracurriculars, essay and leadership skills.
Popp’s bio shared in the FHSAA announcement states “As a senior, Madelyn has been running cross country and track and field all four years at The Bolles School. She is a member of National Honor Society and Honor Council. Madelyn volunteers with Jax Thrive Tutoring and Beam Thrift and works part-time at a pizzeria. Madelyn’s goal for the SAAC is to spread awareness and create education programs for the athletic population on the vitality of properly fueling your activities.”
The SAAC committee will meet three times a year to discuss their issues, share their perspective and create special initiatives for the school year. Their meetings will be held on October 15, 2021; January 24, 2022 and March 7, 2022.
