Pike ’24 Contributes to Patagonia Documentary

Patagonia Films released a documentary called “Laxaþjóð | A Salmon Nation” on February 9 that Bolles senior Miles Pike ’24 contributed to in support of the North Atlantic Salmon Fund (NASF).

For the past three years, Pike has volunteered with the NASF, which aims to protect Icelandic salmon and the biodiversity in the country by demanding the end of open sea pen farming. Pike said the nonprofit’s leadership asked him to travel to Iceland last fall and help with filming as the crew was shorthanded for the project.

“I had different tasks varying from prepping the background of shots, helping set up each interview with microphones, helping adjust the lighting and capturing the audio on a boom pole,” Pike said. “The experience was amazing, and I was able to see things like the northern lights, which I had never seen before, as well as the natural beauty of Iceland. I also learned more about film and documentary production, which I had always been interested in.”
