Pep Rallies Energize Upper and Middle School Students

Students on both the Bolles Upper School San Jose Campus and the Middle School Bartram Campus enjoyed spirited pep rallies on January 30 that celebrated the winter sports season and featured several crowd‑pleasing competitions.

At the upper school event, emcees Leila Goll ’26 and Kelly Day ’26 introduced the captains of the girls’ and boys’ soccer teams, the girls’ weightlifting team and the girls’ and boys’ basketball teams, who shared updates on their seasons. Goll and Day also extended well wishes to the Bolles wrestling team, which was competing at the Flagler Rotary Tournament and unable to attend.

Rally highlights included basketball musical chairs and a lively game of knockout, where Bolles President and Head of School Tyler Hodges claimed the win – see the video here. To view photos of the upper school pep rally, visit our online gallery.

Later that afternoon, middle schoolers gathered for their own pep rally recognizing winter sports teams, including dance, boys’ and girls’ basketball, boys’ and girls’ soccer, girls’ weightlifting and wrestling. Bolles Middle School Athletic Director Matt Denmark and P.E. teacher Madison Lee also recognized the School’s All-Conference athletes.

The Bulldogs competed in an intense student‑teacher soccer match, a tumbling towers competition and basketball musical chairs before Middle School Head Josh Bauman launched a half‑court shot challenge with a dress down day on the line. Patricia ’30 sank the first attempt of the entire contest, and her sister Lyndee ’32 hit another before the rally ended, earning the campus two dress down days and sending their peers into a frenzy!
