Sarah Park ’25 was named winner of the Pratt Library’s recent Native American Research Paper Contest, organized by Bolles Middle School Librarian Jaime Sanborn.

Students were challenged to research and write a paper on Native American history topics as part of the library’s focus on Native American Heritage Month. Park chose to write about Chief Sitting Bull, a warrior and spiritual leader in the Great Sioux Nation.

“I learned so much about the Native Americans of their resilience, courage and hardships they had to go through,” Park said. “I was especially motivated by the book club book, ‘If I ever get Out of Here.’”

Park, a Library Media Ambassador and an administrator of the Bartram Bibliophiles Club, wins a $25 Gift Card to Amazon as well as a book of her choosing.
