Musicians Go For Gold in Inaugural Band Olympics
band olympics

The 2020-21 school year is ending with a blast for the Bolles Middle School Bands with the School’s first Band Olympics.

Created by Bolles Band Director Maggie Vance, Band Olympics is a fun way to maximize the band program's last few rehearsals, build lasting memories and show off what the students have learned this year in spite of the pandemic.

Students participated in at least two events during each band class the week of May 10-14. Each activity challenged bandmates to demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, technical skills or musical aptitude.

By the end of the week, it was the woodwinds/percussion team against the brass team. All participants were excited to win the Olympic prize – brass cups. Good luck, Bolles Band!
