A Multicultural Dance Group will be taking the stage second semester on the Bolles Upper School San Jose Campus.
The group is an outreach of the Student Diversity Committee and is open to any students who wish to participate, according to organizer Amber Bansal '24. The current plan is to host weekly practice sessions in Lynch Theatre on Fridays next semester from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participating students may earn community service hours for attending all practices and performing a medley of three dances during an exhibition at the April Culture Fair.
So far, instructors include teachers Cormac O’Riordan, who will be sharing instruction in Irish dancing and Adriana Stam, who will be leading a Salsa dance. Instruction in Indian Bollywood dance also is part of the lineup. Bansal said the group will be focusing on one style of dance per month between January and March.
