More State Titles and a National Record for Bolles Swim & Dive

Bolles added to its impressive streak of state championships in girls’ and boys’ swimming and diving, adding a national and state record, four school records and winning 16 events at the Class 1A meet on November 8 in Ocala. The girls’ team won their 35th consecutive state title and 39th overall and the boys won the program’s 38th consecutive state title, extending their nation-leading streak, and 47th overall.

A highlight of the Bulldogs’ performance was the boys’ 200 medley relay breaking national, state and school records in the event. Krish Jain ’26, Lucas Young ’26, George Dovellos ’26 and Liam Carrington ’26 clocked 1:26.67, besting the national mark by .08 seconds. They improved on the state and school records by 1.35 seconds, a mark previously set in 2012 by Bolles swimmers Ryan Murphy ’13, Joseph Schooling ’14, Josh Booth ’14 and Santo Condorelli ’13. Murphy, Schooling and Condorelli went on to swim in multiple Olympic Games and all three earned medals.

Individual state champions for the boys were Charlie Zuhoski ’26 in the 200 IM, Tommy Lussier ’27 in the 50 free, Dovellos in the 100 fly, Carrington in the 100 free (school record), Jain in the 100 back and Thi Rai ’27 in the 100 breast. Individual winners for the girls were Riley Miller ’26 in the 50 free, Gianna Vasto ’28 in diving, Ainsley Stephan ’26 in the 100 fly (school record) and Heidi Stoute ’27 in the 500 free. Allison Kelly’28 also set a new school record in the 200 free, placing second.

In addition to the 200 medley relay, the Bolles boys won the 200 free relay (Carrington, Dovellos, Lussier, Ethan Bathala ’26) and 400 free relay (Dovellos, Carrington, Nic Kwan ’26, Zuhoski). The girls won the 200 medley relay (Lucero Mejia Arce ’26, Victoria Edgar ’26, Miller, Leah Chin ’27), 200 free relay (Chin, Miller, Ellie Stewart ’26, Mejia Arce) and 400 free relay (Kelly, Stoute, Stephan, Ella Gotham ’26).
