The Bolles Speech Team competed at a tournament in Gainesville on November 10. While it was only the second tournament the middle school team had ever attended, students achieved numerous awards and enjoyed the experience completely.

In the event "Just Talk,” Bolles speakers swept the top three placements. Riya Kar ’24 captured third place while Raina Swani ’24 and Jacob Schreiber ‘23 shared top honors with an unbreakable tie for first place. Every judge who heard Jacob and Raina throughout the day awarded them with first place rankings, according to team sponsor Bob Hutchings.

In the event "The Daily Show" Andrew Kunkle ’23 won third place.

Lang Gou ’25 earned third place and Christopher Lee ’23 was the top-scoring middle school speaker of the tournament in Impromptu Speaking. Lee also earned fifth place in the high school varsity Impromptu Speaking event.

The Bolles team also brought home the second place Team Sweepstakes award.
