Mejia Arce ’26 Named Guatemalan Swimmer of the Year
Bolles swimmer Lucero Mejia Arce ’26 has been recognized as the 2025 Outstanding Athlete of the Year by the National Swimming Federation of Guatemala, the fourth consecutive year she has earned the honor. The recognition is based on international rankings, national records and participation in elite competitions.
A 2024 Olympian, Mejia Arce produced numerous highlights in 2025 including the top world ranking among Guatemalan female swimmers, setting eight national records and five Central American records and winning nine medals (five gold) in the Central American Games. She signed with Indiana University to continue her academic and athletic career following her graduation from Bolles.
