The Bolles Middle School Bartram Campus welcomed Durkeeville Historical Society President Lloyd Washington to campus for a special presentation on the Negro Baseball League in Jacksonville and the Red Cap baseball team.

The guest convocation was part of the campus’ focus on local Black history during Black History Month. Last week, students heard from Norman Studios Director Devan Lesley about the history of movie productions in Jacksonville featuring Black casts.

Washington first shared an overview of the Red Cap history before sharing his personal presentation.
