On August 21, students taking Temas Globales: Spanish for the Global Citizen with upper school Spanish teacher Carrie Ezzell shared their personal immigration stories and anecdotes from their family members who came to the United States seeking a better life.
The students discussed, in Spanish, the situations they left behind in their native countries as well as the opportunities they were pursuing in America.
“The most exciting moments were when our own Latino students were able to share real-life accounts of family members' immigration stories, including sweet photos and anecdotes from the past,” Ezzell said. “This generated some lively discussion and helped to break the ice for this group of students as they got to know one another and their teacher better.”
Kudos to these Bulldogs for opening up and connecting in the classroom. #BollesGlobal
