International Dot Day Inspires Creativity and Connection

Bolles Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus Pre-K students celebrated International Dot Day on September 15 with a special reading of “The Dot” by Peter H. Reynolds and a collaborative art activity with their Grade 5 buddies.

The story follows a young girl named Vashti as she learns to overcome self-doubt, embrace her creativity and inspire others to do the same. Its message of courage, creativity and collaboration sparked the creation of International Dot Day, which is celebrated around the world each year.

After reading the book together, students teamed up with their Grade 5 buddies to create artwork inspired by the story's themes. The activity provided an opportunity for students to express their creativity while building connections across grade levels.
