Hendershot Competes in First Coast Dancing with the Stars

On September 17, Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus Head of School Stacey Hendershot competed in First Coast Dancing with the Stars, a dance competition and fundraiser benefiting Beaches Fine Arts Series. She and her fellow stars raised more than $114,000 through purchasable votes and gala ticket sales to benefit the nonprofit, which provides free concerts and educational outreach programs in North Florida.

Hendershot paired up with professional dance instructor Christian Marcantonio to perform a tango choreographed to the theme song from “Pirates of the Caribbean.” More than 30 Bolles students, parents, faculty and staff attended the competition to cheer on Hendershot as she and her partner showed off their fancy footwork and battled each other with swords during their fiery, fun routine.

Local stars are selected to compete in First Coast Dancing with the Stars in April and then receive complimentary lessons with some of the area’s most talented dance professionals to train and create their routines. The judged competition is held annually in September at WJCT Studio A in downtown Jacksonville.
