Each year, the Bolles Parent Association goes to great lengths to get old electronics to area recyclers and help safely and responsibly mitigate major trash impact on the environment. Called Green Apple Week of Service, the initiative takes place each fall and this year will be held September 21-23 on all Bolles campuses.
Bolles families may bring their old electronics curbside at morning drop-off on all campuses. Volunteers will be on-hand to assist. Additionally, each campus has designated drop-off locations at the following places: Copeland Library on the Bolles Lower School Whitehurst Campus; the main entrance areas of the Bolles Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach and Middle School Bartram campuses; and inside Bolles Hall on the Upper School San Jose Campus.
Volunteers will accept computers, laptops, printers, scanners, unlocked cell phones, LCD monitors, wires, cables, UPS units, fax machines, VCRs, DVD players, gaming consoles, battery-operated devices and GPS devices. Due to federal and state regulations, volunteers cannot take old-style CRT-TVs, CRT monitors, broken LCD monitors and broken flat screen televisions.
Collection drive and recycling will be provided by Urban Mining and Public Benefit Corporation.
