Grade 8 and Boarders Team Up for Holiday Giving

The holiday season will be brighter for 15 local families thanks to the generosity and teamwork of Bolles eighth graders and students in the Resident Life program. This December, Grade 8 advisories on the Bolles Middle School Bartram Campus adopted families in need through Family Promise, a nonprofit that provides shelter, meals, housing and job placement support to homeless families in our area.

Led by middle school English teacher Morgan Teichert, students purchased gifts from family wish lists and added wrapping paper and everyday essentials like paper towels, wipes and toiletries. Bolles Resident Life students and dorm families also stepped up to help. Instead of their usual monthly outing, Resident Life dorm parents Carrie and Jon Ezzell and five boarders from their village joined the Family Promise shopping efforts. The Kervin Village, led by Andy and Marie Kervin, also contributed funds for essentials like gas and groceries, and some students even made personal donations from their own pockets to support the families’ wish lists.

On December 15, Family Promise representatives stopped by the Bartram Campus to load gifts into their vans—with help from the eighth graders—and deliver them to families in time for the holidays. Well done, Bulldogs! #BulldogsInspiringGoodness
