Grade 3 Hosts Star-Spangled States Extravaganza

Third graders on the Bolles Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus invited family members and special friends to attend a patriotic picnic—featuring delicious food connected to our 50 states—during the States Extravaganza April 18.

The Bulldogs took the George Hall stage for their USA play before inviting the audience to join them in Ponte Vedra Hall for the States Fair, where they set up colorful and informative booths about their assigned states.

The fair is a culmination of research led by Grade 3 teachers Amy Coles ’98 and Pam Ganiel, with support from Ponte Vedra Beach Campus faculty and staff members Michael Bachman, Kimberly Thomas and Christina Karvounis. Bachman helped the students with PowerPoint while Thomas challenged them to create paper-mache state birds and Karvounis assisted with research on famous individuals and work cited.
