Bolles upper school and lower school students enjoyed spending time together on the River Campus May 2 as part of the annual Grade 2 Pen Pal program, guided by upper school English teacher Erin Gastaldi, who is the faculty sponsor of the initiative. The pen pals were delighted to meet in person and share lunch and treats overlooking the St. Johns River.

At Bolles, there are many opportunities for older students to help mentor younger peers, but this pen pal program has been connecting Bulldogs for over 20 years. The exchange provides second graders from both campuses with an opportunity to practice their writing and written conversation skills, and the upper school students thoroughly enjoy conversing with the young Bulldogs and giving them advice.
