Global Scholars Talk SDGs on Ponte Vedra Beach Campus
Upper school students in the Bolles Global Scholar program visited the Bolles Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus February 26 to present about the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Accompanied by Bolles Director of Global Learning & Engagement Allison Chandler, the students spoke with fifth graders about the SDGs in the library, with a focus on SDG 2, Zero Hunger. This goal directly relates to the lower school campus’ current food drive for Feeding Northeast Florida.
Bolles Ponte Vedra Beach Campus librarian and information specialist Christina Karvounis said the program dovetailed with the annual Grade 5 World Peace Game and their global learning goals at the lower school level.
The upper school students, two of which attended the Ponte Vedra Beach Campus, overviewed each of their Global Scholar capstone projects, discussed upper school service clubs, played an interactive game that quizzed the fifth graders on various SDGs and encouraged the young Bulldogs to take small bites out of big problems to make an immediate difference.
