Girls Track & Field Wins Region, Several Bulldogs Advance to State

The Bolles boys’ and girls’ track & field teams competed in the Region 1-2A Championship, held at Pine Forest High School in Pensacola. The meet began on May 1 and weather delays pushed the competition to conclude on May 2. Bolles won the girls’ team competition and the boys placed fifth. Several Bulldogs qualified for the state meet.

Event winners for the Bolles girls included Sienna Starks ’26 in the pole vault, Evie Freeman ’26 in the long jump, Wynter Green ’28 in the triple jump and Terrell McCoy ’26 in the discus. Additional automatic state qualifiers (2nd place finishers) included Freeman in the 100, Charlotte Joseph ’26 in the 800, Sofie Stam ’29 in the 1600 and 3200, McCoy in the shot put, Camilla Clarke ’26 in the discus and the 4x800 relay (Stam, Ella McGowan ’26, Paulina Becker ’26, Joseph).

Event winners for the boys included Aaron Ches ’28 in the 3200 and Magnus Heidecke ’27 in the javelin. Aidan Chandler ’27 also earned an automatic state bid with a second-place finish in the 1600.

At-large state qualifiers for the Bolles girls include Joseph in the 1600, Ari Walker ’26 in the 100 hurdles, Tori Sessions ’28 in the high jump, Grace Christy ’27 in the pole vault and Clarke in the shot put.

At-large state qualifiers for the Bolles boys include Kiran Parekh ’27 and Brantley Rigdon ’28 in the 1600, Ryan Ingram ’26 in the shot put and the 4x800 relay (Henry Camp ’27, Chandler, Charlie Moore ’28, Parekh).

The Class 2A Track & Field State Championships will be held Thursday, May 7, at the University of Noth Florida. Admission is $14, available via the University of North Florida Box Office.
