Continuing school tradition, administrators and leaders of the Bolles Honor Council hosted a special convocation for freshmen and new students. The event was a public demonstration of students’ commitment to upholding the School’s Honor Code.

Honor Council Leader Fatima Samb ’20 opened the meeting by explaining the importance of upholding the Honor Code. President and Head of School Tyler Hodges said the Honor Code is the foundation of their Bolles experience, if not their life. “You can be powerful, successful, you can make a lot of money and lead a glamorous life but without honor you are worth nothing.” He reminded students how fortunate they are to go to a school where the Honor Code is at the heart of everything they do.  The Bolles Honor Code reads, “I will maintain my self-respect and respect others. I will not lie, cheat, steal or tolerate those who do.” A student’s honor is a serious matter at Bolles and students are expected to adhere to the Honor Code at all times.

Following the short presentations, students were asked to approach one of three lecterns to sign their name to the Honor Code pledge. The signatures will be collected and posted in a special display case at the south entrance of Bolles Hall under a bronze plaque stating “Honor Above All.”
