Football Advances to 18th State Final

The Bolles football team defeated visiting Cocoa 20-14 in the Class 4A State Semifinals at Skinner-Barco Stadium on November 29. The Bulldogs advanced to the state final for the 18th time in program history in Head Coach Matt Toblin’s first year on the Bolles sidelines.

 Jeremiah Johnson ’20 threw touchdown passes to Davis Ellis ’21 and Gunner Boree ’21, Matthew Berry ’23 added two field goals and the Bulldogs’ defense forced four turnovers and totaled 11 tackles for loss including five sacks. The Bulldogs sealed the win on a fake punt on fourth down and four yards to gain with 1:40 remaining in the game on their opponents’ 49-yard line. Caden Fordham ’21 took the snap and passed the ball the Simon Brackin ’20 who gained 47 yards on the play.

Bolles will face Booker T. Washington in the final on Wednesday, December 11, 7 p.m. at Daytona Stadium in Daytona Beach. Admission is $12 if purchased in advance and $15 at the gate. Parking at the venue is $10, cash only. The game will stream live on Spectrum Sports for a pay-per-view fee of $9.99. Bolles will also show the game live in the Canteen on the San Jose Campus.
