Bolles alumnus Max Ferguson ’18 was selected by the San Diego Padres in the fifth round of the 2021 Major League Baseball draft with the 160^th pick. Ferguson recently completed his junior season on the University of Tennessee baseball team.

Ferguson earned Southeast All-Region and All-SEC Tournament Team honors in 2021, helping the Vols to the program’s first College World Series appearance since 2005. An infielder, he started 67 games (primarily at second base), ranking fourth on the team with 46 runs scored, 12 home runs and 46 RBIs, all career highs. Ferguson also led the team and ranked fifth in the SEC with 15 stolen bases.

Recent Bolles graduate Jackson Baumeister ’21, who signed with Florida State University in November and was ranked among the top pitching prospects by MLB.com, announced on Twitter on July 12 his intention to play collegiate baseball. “I would like to thank all of the MLB organizations that showed interest in me this draft year,” Baumeister tweeted. “And with that being said I am overjoyed to honor my commitment to THE Florida State University! Go Noles!”
