Dr. Cara Tasher Helps Choral Students Prepare for Fall Concert

UNF Director of Choral Studies Dr. Cara Tasher visited the Bolles Upper School San Jose Campus on August 6 as a guest artist to help both upper and middle school choral students prepare for their fall concert.

Tasher has performed and recorded with conductors Abbado, Barenboim, Burdick, Eschenbach, Levine, Shaw and Solti. She has also been associated with the Atlanta Symphony Chorus, Chicago Symphony Chorus, Conspirare, Jacksonville Symphony, Trinity Choir-Wall Street, Xavier University and the Young People’s Chorus of New York City.

Bolles Choral Program Director Meredith Mormann said Tasher worked with students on the three pieces that all four Bolles choral ensembles will perform together at the upcoming concert, which will be held November 15 at 7 p.m. in Parker Auditorium on the Middle School Bartram Campus. Tasher also taught the students about vocal anatomy, breathing techniques, vowel unification and more.

The choral program at Bolles provides students at all levels with the opportunity to develop individual musicianship. Through participation in the choral program, students experience the power of music and the profound historical and cultural connections it generates.
