Students on the Bolles Lower School Whitehurst Campus enjoyed a special presentation on Diwali, the festival of lights and one of India’s biggest and most important holidays of the year. In addition to holding personally painted candle-lit clay lamps called diyas, students enjoyed hearing Grade 5 peers Ishaan Bansal '29, Sona Deshmukh '29, Devyaan Gandhi '29, Meera Krish '29 and Dev Patel '29 talk about the holiday’s meaning and how it is celebrated. Grade 3 students Sabrina Desai '27 and Riya Krish '27 followed the presentation with an Indian dance. Students also were treated to authentic snacks provided by a Bolles family. Organized by Parent Association committee Parents for Positive Change and parent Archna Patel, the cultural learning event was a celebratory occasion that benefited everyone’s experience. Students on the Bolles Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus will enjoy a similar presentation from a campus parent and student later this week. Happy Diwali, Bulldogs!
