The Bolles Dance Company had an incredible experience working with choreographer Emily McDaniel November 2-3, with a focus on the contemporary dance style.

McDaniel and Bolles dance instructor Hilly Amell teamed up to choreograph a demanding piece called “Sheared,” which the dancers will debut at the upcoming Spring Dance Concert February 6-7.

A graduate of Booker T. Washington Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas, McDaniel received her BFA in dance performance from SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance in New York. After graduation, she has continued to train and perform at international festivals and workshops in Austria, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Portugal and the UK. McDaniel is an NFAA YoungArts alumni in Dance/Choreography who has collaborated with Ellis Wood and presented work at West End Theater, Joe’s Pub and Chen Dance Center for NewSteps emerging choreographers’ series in New York City. She has also worked on various collaborations with Belgian choreographer Helder Seabra, which led her to perform and assist in Europe and Russia. #BollesArts
