Crawford Wins Artsonia's Art Education Leadership Award
Bolles Lower School Whitehurst Campus art teacher Elizabeth Crawford was announced as a recipient of Artsonia’s annual Art Education Leadership Award on April 25.
The Art Education Leadership Award recognizes 15 leaders across the world in the art education community who continually inspire their peers through their online school gallery on Artsonia.
“Crawford's digital gallery exhibits true innovation, creativity and dedication. Her students are fortunate to receive such a high-quality art education, and her peers look to her for guidance,” wrote Artsonia CEO Jim Meyers. “Artsonia strives to provide art educators a platform to inspire one another. We could not thrive without the commitment and ingenuity of teachers, like Elizabeth Crawford, who use their online gallery and lesson plans to motivate others. We applaud your school's commitment to providing young minds a quality art education.”
Bolles Lower School Whitehurst Campus Head Dr. Christy Lusk presented Crawford with the award during Flag April 25, the same day as the annual Whitehurst Campus Art Extravaganza that showcases works from every Whitehurst Campus student under Crawford’s tutelage.
“Elizabeth's ability to unlock creativity and tap into each student's artistic potential is remarkable,” Lusk said. “We are incredibly proud to have her as part of our team and celebrate her well-deserved recognition."
Fifth grader Pedro ’32 also shared how Crawford has made an impact from a student's perspective.
"I would describe Mrs. Crawford as fun to be around, honest and kind," he said. "She always gives us great feedback. I am grateful for her helping us grow as artists!"
Congratulations, Mrs. Crawford! #BollesArt #BollesWhitehurst
