Over winter break, Bolles upper school student Kyle Crawford ’24 helped six local families in need through his Family Blessings Holiday Basket project, which was created by his sister Maddie Crawford ‘22 four years ago.
He partnered with Father Rafael Lavilla of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church this year to identify the deserving families to support during the holiday season. Father Rafael provided Kyle with information about the hardships these families face as well as the ages, sizes, hobbies and gift ideas for all members of each family.
Using this information, Kyle wrote a compelling email introducing his project and requesting gift donations for these families. His email was sent to family, friends and neighbors and included links to gift registries at Amazon, Walmart and Target.
He sorted through the mountains of packages containing gift donations once finals were over, organizing gifts by family. After wrapping and assembling the gift baskets, Kyle brought the gifts to the church and then delivered them personally to each family.
The Crawford siblings’ Family Blessings Holiday Basket project has grown significantly since Maddie launched the initiative – now doubling in the number of families it serves.
We’re proud of Kyle and Maddie for going above and beyond in demonstrating The Bolles Way! #BulldogProud
