Clutter ’27 and Patel ’27 Selected for National Civic Fellowship

The Institute for Citizens & Scholars has selected Bolles juniors Rapha Clutter ’27 and Sohan Patel ’27 for the inaugural Carnegie Young Leaders for Civic Preparedness fellowship. The students join 500 promising young changemakers from 27 states who are committed to strengthening their communities and democracy.

Funded by a $2,050,000 grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York, the program provides young leaders, ages 14–24, with up to $7,500 per team in project funding, stipends, mentorship and access to a national network of peers and civic leaders to bring these programs to life.

Clutter and Patel join their HelpDart.com team members—Raina Dalal, Shivan Patel and Maya Schultz—for the year-long series of virtual and in-person activities, including leadership workshops, networking opportunities and a capstone project. Patel and Dalal co-founded HelpDart, a youth-centered volunteer platform and web app, to connect students with service opportunities they are passionate about.

Selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants, these young leaders have demonstrated outstanding vision, collaboration and a deep commitment to driving positive change in their communities.
