Bolles senior Yancin Chen ’24 performed in the Weill Recital Hall in New York City’s famed Carnegie Hall on December 23 as a winner of the 2023 American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition. Chen won third place in the Piano Intermediate Category (Age 15 to 18), earning a recital spot at the renowned classical concert venue.  

The Piano and Strings Competition is open to school students and adults of all nationalities and countries, welcoming all instruments to audition, including piano, strings, voice and winds. A record number of talented musicians from 16 countries applied for this year’s competition.
