Bulldogs Raise $2,300 for Aidyn Mae Hope Fund

Bolles upper school students in the Aidyn Mae Hope Fund (AMHF) Club joined a group of Bolles Lower School Whitehurst Campus students October 5 for a lemonade stand at the Colonial Manor Duck Pond in San Marco, raising $2,300 for FOXG1 syndrome research in just three hours!

AMHF Club co-founders Jack Jones ’26 and Hayden Jones ’28 started the club this year to support three-year-old Aidyn Mae – who was born with the incredibly rare brain disorder – and to encourage her brother Quincy ’36 and the entire Gottlieb family. The student-led organization, which boasts 60 members, aims to support the AMHF, provide the nonprofit with volunteers for its events and raise awareness about FOXG1 and the struggles families face who have children with ultra rare diseases.

Daryl and Tessa Gottlieb brought Aidyn to the AMHF Club’s first meeting earlier this school year, packing the classroom of Bolles upper school math teacher Kip Collins ’05, who serves as the club’s faculty sponsor. The students listened intently as the Gottliebs shared more about Aidyn’s condition, daily life and the incredible research being conducted to find a cure for FOXG1.

The next big event on the horizon for the AMHF Club is the second annual Night of Hope at the Garden Club on Thursday, November 7. Students are encouraged to volunteer throughout the evening or attend with their families. Click here for more information about the AMHF’s Night of Hope.
