Bolles faculty members, alumni and a current student are set to dazzle on stage for the “in concert” production of the musical “Mame,” presented by the Florida Theatre and Theatre Jacksonville.

Bolles Lower School Whitehurst Campus drama teacher Daniel Austin and rising Bolles sixth grader Hudson Iracki ’31 will join Bolles Choral Director Meredith Mormann and Bolles alumna Morgan Perry ’13 in performances held at the Florida Theatre August 24-25.

Theatre Jacksonville Executive Director and Bolles alumna Sarah Boone ’81 is also playing the role of the nanny and helping produce the show. The connections continue with current Bolles parent Matt Vance playing in the orchestra pit alongside former Bolles band instructor Don Zentz.

Set in mid-20th century New York City, the musical follows Mame Dennis, who is played by Linda Purl of “The Office” and “Happy Days” fame. She is an eccentric bohemian with wealthy friends whose fabulous life is interrupted by the arrival of the young son of her late brother. This “in concert” Broadway production features a full 26-piece orchestra on stage with a 30-member chorus.
