Bolles Swimmers Compete at Jr Pan Am Games

Three current Bolles swimmers and a recent alumnus competed at the inaugural Junior Pan American Games, held in Cali, Colombia November 25-December 5. The competition, a sibling event of the long-established Pan American Games, includes athletes ages 22 and under from countries in the western hemisphere in a variety of sports.

Andres Dupont Cabrera ’22 earned four medals for Mexico, winning gold in the men’s 4x100 medley relay, silver in the men’s 4x100 free relay and mixed 4x100 free relay and bronze in the 100 free. He also swam on Mexico’s fifth place 4x200 free relay.

Rafael Ponce De Leon ’20, representing Peru, placed fourth in both the 4x100 and 4x200 free relays, sixth in the 800 free and seventh in the 400 free.

Rachel Lundy ’23 competed in the prelims of five events for the Bahamas, the 50, 100 and 200 free, the 4x100 free relay and 4x100 medley relay.

Sabrina Lyn ’23 competed in five events for Jamaica, advancing to the B Final in the 100 free, 100 breast and 100 fly. She also competed in the 4x100 medley and 4x100 free relays. Lyn also met with Jamaican Olympian and Bolles record holder Janelle Atkinson ’00 during the meet.
