Bolles Sweeps Track District Titles for 11th Time

The Bolles girls’ and boys’ track and field teams both won team titles at the District 3-2A meet at Bolles on April 20, sweeping district team titles for the 11th time. The girls won for the 11th consecutive season and 13th overall and the boys won the program’s 22nd district championship. The girls won by 227 points and the boys won by 80. Bolles won 12 events in the girls’ competition and 11 events in the boys' competition.

Individual district champions for the Bolles girls were Janay Moorer ’24 in the 200-meter dash, Catherine Kunz ’21 in the 800-meter run, Maxine Montoya ’21 in the 1600 and 3200-meter runs, Elizabeth Smith ’24 in the 100-hurdles, Arevik Mirijanyan ’22 in the high jump, Audrey Wuerffel ’21 in the pole vault, Presley Wolfe ’24 in the triple jump and Layne Rivera ’21 in the javelin. Bolles also won all three girls’ relays – the 4x100 (Carmen Roundtree ’23, Moorer, Alexi Pitt ’22, Carissa Aldana ’21), the 4x400 (Katherine Asbury ’24, Kate Hastings ’21, Kunz, Moorer) and 4x800 (Kunz, Hadley Ropp ’22, Leila Bata ’24, Jillian Candelino ’23).

Event winners for the boys were Kavon Miller ’23 in the 400-meter dash, Will Brady ’22 in the 800-meter run, Aidan Ryan ’23 in the 1600-meter run, Matthew McClure ’22 in the 3200-meter run, Jeffrey Ashby ’23 in the 110-hurdles, Jack Leake ’22 in the pole vault, Kemani Wilson ’23 in the long jump, George Duffy ’21 in the shot put and discus and Ryan Anderson ’22 in the javelin. The Bulldogs also won the 4x800 relay (Nate Drew ’22, Cormac Kimberly ’23, Colin Duhnoski ’22, Cole Rutkowski ’21).

The Region 1-2A Championship will be held at Bay High School in Panama City on Saturday, May 1.
